Don’t let fear drive your ambition away!

In the process of pursuing a dream, so many things get in our way- things that make us want to quit everything. The first thing that always stops us is fear! Before we even go out to do something, we have to stop being afraid to do it. But where does that fear come from? You might not believe it, but fear is learned; it’s not natural! We just didn’t come out of the womb saying “OMG I’m afraid of the dark!” It’s something that people taught us without even knowing. When we’re afraid to pursue a dream, that fear will build up from other peoples’ opinions and outcomes. Have you noticed that whenever you tell someone what you want to be when you grow up, they usually say, “Oh, well I tried that and it didn’t work out.” Or “I know someone that tried that but it didn’t work out for them.” We have to remember, just because it didn’t work for others, that doesn’t mean it won’t work for you. This should make you want to work harder for your goal. Maybe all they needed was a little more hard work, so do what they didn’t do and try harder. Another example of how fear is made is when people put down your dreams. They might say “That’s not really a good job” or “That’s never going to pay for a good living!” Sometimes it’s not all about the money. Whatever you do, as long as you do it up to God, that’s your money right there! Wouldn’t you rather do something you love rather than wake up everyday and hate what you’re doing? We’re the ones who give value to money; without people, it’s worthless. Do what you love despite peoples’ opinions, outcomes, and money. We let society control us enough, so are you really going to let them control your dreams too?

Love,

Shanti

P.S. Don’t forget to tell yourself “Love You Self!”
